Blackboard (Faculty) - Tests, Surveys, and Pools: Export / Import Tests
This document provides an overview of exporting tests from one course and importing tests to another course.
Decide on which tests you want to Export:
- Individual tests
- All tests in course
Export Individual Test
If you want to export individual tests, and not all tests in your course:
- From the Control Panel, click on Course Tools.
- Click on Tests, Surveys, and Pools.
- Click on Tests.
- Hover your mouse over the name of the test to be exported and click on the grey circle.
- Click on Export to Local Computer.
- Save the .zip file to your computer's download folder or desktop. If your computer does not allow you to choose a folder or location, your computer has saved the file to your Downloads folder.
Import Individual Test
Navigate to your new course:
- From the Control Panel, click on Course Tools.
- Click on Tests, Surveys, and Pools.
- Click on Tests.
- Click on Import Test.
- Click the Browse My Computer button.
- Locate the file on your desktop or Downloads folder.
- Click Submit.
Export All Tests from a Course
- From the Control Panel, click on Packages and Utilities.
- Click on Export/Archive Course.
- Click on Export Package.
- File Attachments: Accept all the defaults.
- Select Course Materials: Click on only the "Tests, Surveys, and Pools" check box.
- Click the Submit button.
- Click the Refresh button once you receive an email that your export has been completed.
- Save the .zip file to your computer's download folder or desktop. If your computer does not allow you to choose a folder or location, your computer has saved the file to your Downloads folder.
Import All Tests
Navigate to your new course:
- From the Control Panel, click on Packages and Utilities.
- Click on Import Package
- Click on Import Package.
- Select a Package:
- Click the Browse My Computer button.
- Locate the file on your desktop or Downloads folder.
- Select Course Materials: Click on only the "Tests, Surveys, and Pools" check box.
- Click the Submit button.
NOTE: Importing a test into Tests, Surveys, and Pools does not make it available to the students. Navigate to the content area in which you want to place the exam for the students. Following the instructions for deploying the test in a content area.
